Welcome to Colehayes Park on the
very edge of Dartmoor in Devon, UK. We are a
field studies centre based in a Grade II Listed
Georgian mansion about two miles west of
Bovey Tracey. Colehayes Park has proved to be an
exceptionally popular location for field study
work with many schools and universities returning
year after year.
|
But Colehayes is not just about the natural
environment. The climate here is mild, sometimes damp, but
generally drier than much of the moor to the west.
The prevailing wind is from the
west which tends to bring warm moist air from the
Atlantic Ocean in winter; being in the lee of the
moor we get less rain than many places nearby.
|
So
Colehayes is a pleasant place to relax and to
enjoy good clean fresh Devon air with few extremes
of weather. The grounds are exceptional and we
have one of the country's finest specimen of Cork
Oak.
Present owners,
Bill & Rebecca Brooks are carrying out
extensive works on the stream and ponds.
